Langston Construction was honored to have the opportunity to tour South Carolina’s new “Be Pro, Be Proud” skilled trades trailer with Senator Thomas Alexander and other county officials. The 53-foot, double-expandable 18-wheeler offers students and parents the chance to learn more about skilled trades and the career opportunities that are abundant in South Carolina, including thousands of well-paying construction jobs. Inside the truck, students work through computer simulations to drive a commercial truck, operate a piece of heavy equipment, and run a forklift. There are also virtual reality games that teach the techniques of carpentry, welding, and diesel mechanics.
