Langston Construction is honored to be involved with the newly form South Carolina Skilled Trade Alliance (SCSTA). Since May 2019, Langston’s Mary-Allyson Chauvin has been working with industry colleagues under the SC Department of Commerce to strategize and develop a replicable, consistent roadmap to attract and recruit for the skilled trades. The SCSTA developed a Tier Model to engage audiences from elementary school ages to adulthood for short-term workforce impacts and log-term sustainability. The model incorporates intentional action items to increase awareness, participation and employment pipelines in the skilled trades, as well as to educate influencers about career opportunities, earning potential and employment pathways.
SCSTA’s initiative is designed to facilitate effort-collaboration between educators, industry organizations and professionals, and community advocacy partners. They held their Kick-Off Event on February 11th to unveil the model platform and to begin the implementation phase of their strategic objectives.
