Langston Construction is proud of the two interns, Drake Garrett and Aubrey Miller, for successfully completing their summer internship.
Aubrey Miller, a Construction Science major at Clemson University, interned in the preconstruction and project management department. Ms. Miller was able to learn several estimating and project management software systems, participate in the design and conceptual estimating of an upcoming project, and assist with the estimating of several environmental projects. She also helped with submittals, change orders, schedule updates and project cost projections. Ms. Miller stated that she is “very grateful for the opportunity I was given to work in such a safety-oriented environment”.
Drake Garret, a Construction Engineering major at The Citadel, interned in the field learning construction means and methods, equipment operations, and construction safety. Mr. Garrett also interned with project management where he was able to observe and participate in several management meetings and owner communications. “My internship really helped me to see all of the different roles on a construction team. All of mentors did a great job of explaining everything they were doing and taught the ‘big picture’ of the construction process”.
