Safety Profile

  • Langston Construction Co. implemented a Safety Awards Program in 1998. The program has a quarterly and an annual award. Since the beginning of the program we have given away over $136,000.00 in cash awards and door prizes to our employees.
  • Since July, 2002 all new employees participate in an orientation conducted by their supervisor. This scripted presentation discusses our mission, our commitment and our difference. We outline our history and our commitment to safety and quality.
  • All of Langston Construction Co.'s supervisors, project managers and most of the hourly employees are trained as competent persons for trenching and excavation and scaffolding erection. All Langston Supervisors have completed the OSHA 30 Hr. training. All employees are also trained in First Aid, OSHA 10HR, Scaffold Building, Fall Protection and Confined Space.
  • Langston Construction Co. has a Job Hazard Safety Analysis process in use.
  • In 2010, Langston Construction Co. was recognized by the Associated General Contractors of America with a First Place Construction Safety Excellence Award. Our Safety Program was judged as the "Best in the Nation" for companies our size. Langston Construction Co. has received the Carolinas AGC First Place Construction Safety Excellence Award for 2007, 2008, and 2009.
  • James Braswell, President of Langston Construction, currently serves on the Duke Energy RES Contractor Safety Advisory Committee.
  • Langston Construction Co. has a Safety Committee comprised of 2 project managers, 2 superintendents, and 2 craftworkers. This committee meets quarterly to review policies, determine training needs, and make changes to our safety program.
  • Langston Construction Co. has received a Presidential Safety Award for outstanding safety performance from Carolinas AGC every year since 1991.
